Safe in His Care

Recently I woke up in the middle of the night afraid for no reason at all. I lay there in bed with my heart beating wildly, wondering if I should call someone. However before I could jump out of bed or reach for the phone I heard the still small voice of my heavenly father say, “Why are you afraid? I’m here with you.”

With those simple but utterly powerful words resonating within my spirit, a big smile came over my face.

I was safe. My father was with me.

I breathe out a quiet prayer, rolled over and went back to sleep, safe in my father’s care.

I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell
in safety. Psalm 4:8

I took this photo of my goddaughter a few years ago and I named it "A Picture of Trust" I used it before but I thought it was the perfect fit for this post.
