And the word of the Lord came unto me saying, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.Jeremiah 1:4-5
The above scripture goes out to everyone who has ever had questions about their reason for being upon this Earth. Just as Jeremiah was predestined to be born, in the time that he was so were you. You are here because God predestined it to be so and because He has a purpose for your life. Your destiny was planned before you even came into being. Nevertheless, it’s up to you to ensure that the road to the destiny God has planned for you is the one you end up on.
Although God has a destiny mapped out for you it’s still up to you whether or not it comes to pass. God cannot force you to choose the life that He has planned for you, although He’s probably puzzled as to why you wouldn’t want to. However, He has given you the freedom to choose. What choice will you make? I offer Christ to you my brother, I offer Christ to you my sister… He’s changed my life and I know he can do the same for you. God loves you! He gave his best for you and he wants you to live a life that is committed unto him. Every success that you have achieved in this life you achieved as a result of God’s blessing. But I dare say that no matter how successful you are your life is empty if God is not a part of it.
Fulfilling your ultimate destiny depends on your relationship with God and having him as a part of your life. It’s in Christ alone that you will find true success, true peace and true joy.
Some of you may feel as if your life has no meaning or value. You may feel a sense of emptiness within and you may be trying to fill that void by doing all the wrong things. But I say to you that no matter what you do you’ll still be empty inside unless you go to the one source that can fill the emptiness within your heart and bring true meaning and value to your life. That source is the Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t put it off for a later date. The time is now. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, come into your heart and make you a new person. The bible says Now is the acceptable time behold now is the day of salvation. You were not promised tomorrow, today is all that you have what are you going to do with it?
My friend all God is asking you to do is to allow Him into your life and in return He’ll give you so much more. In return He’ll give you joy beyond measure. In return He’ll give you peace in the midst of any situation you may go through. In return He’ll be the parent that will never forsake you. In return He’ll be the best friend that will never betray you.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…As you can see God has great plans for your life. He wants you to have a bright future, a tomorrow that has more joys than you can imagine. But as I said before, the choice is yours, your destiny awaits… will you choose the life that God has predestined for you or are you going to choose another way?
This is a short devotion I gave on a Morning Devotion radio program in September 2003.
June 1, 2010 I published the last issue (at least for a while) of Girl Talk my teen girl magazine. Since this blog was originally designed for the purpose of publishing weekly devotions for the magazine and later the magazine itself I decided to create another blog that isn’t connected to Girl Talk.
I’ll probably still publish book reviews or other items here now and again but you’ll more often find me at Trusting Him with Today. I hope you’ll stop by

What a beautiful devotion and invitation, Bernadine. I have written something similar on Saturday's CWO blog :).
Blessings to your weekend and always.
