June 1, 2010 I published the last issue (at least for a while) of Girl Talk my teen girl magazine. Since this blog was originally designed for the purpose of publishing weekly devotions for the magazine and later the magazine itself I decided to create another blog that isn’t connected to Girl Talk.

I’ll probably still publish book reviews or other items here now and again but you’ll more often find me at Trusting Him with Today. I hope you’ll stop by

So I’m a Christian… Now What?

Tears streaming down their faces they walked to the altar. The call was made; Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation (2 Cor 6:2 NLT)… the choice is yours. What choice will you make?

With joy in my heart and a prayer of thanksgiving on my lips I saw several young ladies choose Christ. At that moment there was no thought of friends, image or status. There was simply a longing for the fulfillment that only a relationship with Christ can bring.

There at that altar began a new relationship with Jesus Christ.

As a former Christian teen, I know that at some point the excitement and passion that came with that new found faith will begin to fade and the thought will come to mind, “So I’m a Christian…now what?”

“How do I keep this excitement?”
“How do I grow spiritually?”
“What does God expect of me?”

Over the next few weekly blog posts I’ll be exploring this topic.

Awesome, Bernadine! What a wonderful mentoring opportunity lays before you... to keep the fire burning.

I'll be praying for you.

Looking forward to more on the topic.

Yeah, so thankful you are still being there for these precious teens.

Great topics for the future. May God bless your words/posts.

Hugs,

You are right, Bernadine. I think when young people come to know the Lord, we often forget to mentor them -- encourage them in their walk. How blessed the young adults are to have you in their life.
