June 1, 2010 I published the last issue (at least for a while) of Girl Talk my teen girl magazine. Since this blog was originally designed for the purpose of publishing weekly devotions for the magazine and later the magazine itself I decided to create another blog that isn’t connected to Girl Talk.

I’ll probably still publish book reviews or other items here now and again but you’ll more often find me at Trusting Him with Today. I hope you’ll stop by

Living in Fast Forward Mode

Have you ever watched a movie in fast forward mode? Doesn't make much sense does it? I've watched enough movies to know that in order to get the full effect and understanding of the movie, I have to watch it at its intended pace. When I do fast forward through what I consider the boring parts of the movies, I actually find myself having to rewind because I don't quite understand what is happening and in those moments I realize that even the "boring" parts have its purpose.

Unfortunately, sometimes I treat my life with a little less respect and reverence than I do those movies. As I reflect on my life, the memories roll through my mind like scenes from a movie. However, the scenes are all in fast forward mode.

I really enjoyed your article Bernadine! I could really relate to it. One of the hardest things to control are our thoughts! Luckily the Holy Spirit is always there guiding us!!!

Very good thoughts! It's all too easy to "check your brain out" and just float through life. But it's so not worth it in the end! Life is too short not to enjoy every moment.

Funny, but I linked from another blog to Sanctified Together and saw your article there. Then, linked here to tell you it was very good. Life goes by fast enough without us having to hurry it along with our own thoughts. Thanks.

True. What we consider the "mundane" part of life might very well be an important period in our lives. :D

What a powerful post over at 'Sanctified Together'. You are right, we often wish for the next part of life without regards of the here and now. I have lived more than half of my life already, and some days I wish I could reviewed a couple of years :)

Thank you for always sharing from your heart, Bernadine.

Love & peace,
Iris
